The site also provides live tutoring help, in addition to video lectures, flash cards and a large knowledgebase of course-related questions that have already been asked and answered.

Additionally, Course Hero offers textbook help in the form of supplements like answer sheets, solution charts and general study guides. Course Hero hosts hundreds of full college courses, which despite not providing actual college credit can give you an opportunity to explore a new field or topic on your own time.

Course Hero was founded by Andrew Grauer, whose goal was to make the college experience more like that of the real world—in other words, a global community of people sharing knowledge and helping one another out. The service launched in 2007 and quickly acquired enormous amounts of viable course information, boasting over 2,000,000 in just two years. Currently, the service offers over 7,000,000 documents from over 4,000 universities. The app has over 230,000 Facebook followers, indicating widespread success.

The addition of flashcards and the ability to pay for the service by uploading course documents just sweetens the deal, and the site currently boasts that 93% of its users either maintain their current grades or see an increase after using Course Hero.

Course Hero is split into four primary sections: Study Documents, Tutors, Courses and Flashcards. Each section has a number of sub-topics; for example, the “Study Documents” section offers school-specific browsing and textbook assistance. The interface is easy to navigate, with everything clearly labeled and user-friendly backtracking. Each section seems to have been engineered to be a simple and efficient as possible.
